Cheshire-based architecture practice Calderpeel has secured planning permission on behalf of developer Citybranch for a £7m mixed-used scheme in Timperley village, near Altrincham.

The development, in Stockport Road, will see Citybranch build 25 luxury apartments on the site of Timperley library, while relocating the library and the nearby Park Medical Centre into a modern and vibrant community hub on the same site, all set within landscaped grounds.

The plans were voted through unanimously by Trafford Council on September 8 and the decision followed a detailed consultation process that canvassed the views of library users, local businesses, residents and councillors.

“This is an exciting scheme that will bring huge community benefits, not least a high-tech library and enhanced healthcare facilities in the village centre. We’re looking forward to getting on site now and delivering a development that Timperley can be proud of.”

Adam Gross, a director of Citybranch
